Dabbling In Watercolors, or, Love Is A Revolving Door
There’s no way to articulate this without sounding like a perv, so let’s stick to this: Frozen (and Anna) has struck a chord with me like no Disney movie (and heroine) since Beauty And The Beast (and, yes, Belle). Let’s just say I appreciate a woman who quotes Arrested Development.
It happens to the best of us; you think you’re just sitting down to watch Batman: The Animated Series, and next thing you know, you’re having inappropriate thoughts about Harley Quinn. At least Harley’s human; from what I’m told, there’s a whole generation having inappropriate thoughts about squirrels, thanks to Gadget from Chip N’ Dale’s Rescue Rangers. I’m pretty sure Joss Whedon had Gadget in mind when he created Kaylee.
So who’s your cartoon crush? Who, from the world of cartoons, comics, or games, makes you want to exercise Rule 34? (Rule 34 link is Safe For Work. Most Rule 34 art is not)
Next On TV Squared: The Charmings was a 1987 ABC sitcom that traded on the idea of fairy tale characters in the modern world a good two decades before Once Upon A Time, Grimm, or the comic book Fables. The show followed “Snow and Eric Charming” (get it?) attempting to adjust to living in 1980s LA, raising their kids (Thomas and Cory Charming), and dealing with Snow’s wicked stepmother, the “Endora” of the show. I can’t help feeling that if the show had come just a couple of years later, it could have found success on ABC’s TGIF lineup, but it’s found a home on TV Squared.
