The Lost World Of Sid & Marty Krofft, Part 1
CNN Center in Atlanta is exactly what is sounds like; inside the glass-and-steel exterior, you’ll find the headquarters of CNN, an Arby’s, the Cartoon Network store, and, for those who appreciate such things, the world’s longest free-standing escalator.
But this seemingly innocent place harbors a dark secret. When the place opened, as a sports and entertainment complex called Omni, that monument to the escalatorial arts led not to a former news innovator now struggling to stay relevant, but to someplace altogether stranger. A world of talking hats, and renegade sea monsters, and beater cars that transform into souped-up dune buggies with one toot of a magic horn. A world where hearing “lunch” as “launch” could lead to interstellar hijinks, and a talking flute is a thing a kid can just have, that no one questions.
This, then, is The Lost World Of Sid & Marty Krofft…
Hey, not sure if you remember me but we met at ECCC! You were at our Webcomic Underdog panel. Glad to see your comic is running strong. It was great to meet you, keep up the good work!
Btw – I’m not afraid of heights, but really tall escalators FREAK ME OUT! Like the one at Universal City….*shudder*. I have a fear of falling backwards on them or something.
Richmond here – sorry I wasn’t able to make it to ECCC with Mowrer and see the panel, but I have my ticket for next year!
There’s an elevator at a Skytrain station in Vancouver BC that’s so vertical it gives me vertigo. When I lived there, I would actually get off at the next stop and backtrack to where I was going!
Hey Michael! I absolutely remember you. I really enjoyed the Webcomics Underdog panel and got some great info out of it.
Richmond and I also attended a WU meet-up not long after ECCC and we contributed to the 4th of July group photo extravaganza:

Unfortunately we haven’t had more time to get involved. Making a twice weekly webcomic tends to take up a lot of free time. 😉
I’ve got my tickets for ECCC 2015, so i hope to see you there!
Just discovered your site via an ad on mine. As an huge fan of Sid/Marty, you have a new reader. Cheers!
Thanks, we’re glad you like it!
Hello. And Bye.
